Rory!

Wow. I’m officially a dad.

Our little bundle of joy arrived yesterday evening – and she’s amazing. Both Rory and Mom are happy and healthy and we couldn’t be happier. Here’s a first look at her:

April Fools

Mother Nature played a nice April Fools joke on us Calgarians last night – she gave us a light dusting of snow that remains on the ground this morning. Great way to start off the spring 😉

Mike Olbinski - April 2, 2012 - 7:35 am

Love this! Happy April Fool’s day :)

Edith Levy - April 2, 2012 - 8:01 am

Now that’s not nice…of mother nature that is but I do like the simplicity of this shot.

Jesse Pafundi - April 2, 2012 - 9:21 am

My cup of tea. The photo, not the weather.

Bob Lussier - April 2, 2012 - 10:08 am

What a cool shot.

Rick Louie - April 2, 2012 - 11:05 am

April Fool’s day is showing up a day late here. We are supposed to get snow today and tomorrow.

Very cool photo. I’ve want to capture something like this. Maybe tonight :-)

Chris Frailey - April 2, 2012 - 11:35 am

Oh how Mother Nature can play tricks.

Navin Harish - April 3, 2012 - 1:45 am

Very nice shot

Into the Mist

Ever since I was a kid I’ve loved the fog. Something about how it makes the world feel smaller and seems to make everything just a little more quiet. We were treated with a good dose of fog a couple of days ago and I just happened to be downtown with my camera. Lucky me:)

Brian Furbush - March 27, 2012 - 7:39 am

Solid shot man, really strong leading lines and the B&W works well in tandem with the fog.

Mike Olbinski - March 27, 2012 - 7:51 am

Sick frame

Chris DeAngelis - March 27, 2012 - 7:58 am

Sick shot! Is this with the new glass?

Rich Williams - March 27, 2012 - 9:02 am

Oh, hell yes!

Bob Lussier - March 27, 2012 - 9:30 am

Solid is right. This is a great shot!

Chris Frailey - March 27, 2012 - 9:34 am

Love the vanishing lines Heath.

Rick Louie - March 27, 2012 - 10:47 am

Sweet shot! Really works in B&W.

andy gimino - March 27, 2012 - 11:52 am

Wow really nice image heath! Love the lines of this building disappearing into that fog!

Dave Wilson - March 27, 2012 - 11:57 am

Another lovely bold, minimalist shot.

Jesse Pafundi - March 29, 2012 - 11:47 am

This is stellar. So good, dude.

A.Barlow - March 29, 2012 - 1:25 pm

Fog, it’s like photographic bacon (everything taste better with it)

Sweet shot here man.

Chris Maskell - March 31, 2012 - 1:31 am

Love the mono and the lines here Heath. The building vanishing into the fog is a great touch

Navin Harish - April 3, 2012 - 1:46 am

I love fog too. I also love the condensed vapours that come out of your nose when you breathe. I love hos this building is disappearing

Olivier Rault - April 27, 2012 - 9:20 am

A photo just beautiful, good photographic work!

Jakke Röntynen - May 1, 2012 - 10:43 am

Hi,

Great image :)

Peace Bridge – A New Calgary Icon

This past Saturday afternoon the newly finished Peace Bridge in Calgary had its official opening. The Santiago Calatrava designed pedestrian bridge has been a number of years in the making, and its construction was wrought with controversy over missed timelines and budget issues. The city still seems split; some love it while others feel it was a great big waste of money (~25 million). Me? I think its gonna make for some great photographs, and below is the first of what I’m sure will be many studies of this interesting new icon.

Mike Olbinski - March 26, 2012 - 7:25 am

Wow, that is a pretty awesome looking bridge! It looks to be in an interesting place though…is it more of a neighborhood? IN which case, it does seem like a lot of money for something other than a busy downtown area.

Very cool shots though Heath, you’re gonna have fun with it :)

Jim Denham - March 26, 2012 - 7:29 am

Nice set Heath! Pretty neat looking bridge!

Brian Furbush - March 26, 2012 - 8:52 am

Great shots dude, really like the color tones. Will be pretty epic if it’s lit up at night as well :)

Scott Ackerman - March 26, 2012 - 10:06 am

Looks pretty cool to me. Like you said, may make for a good backdrop for a future shoot. Great set man.

Bob Lussier - March 26, 2012 - 10:32 am

Great set of images! What a cool bridge. I would imagine this will be a very popular subject for Calgary area photographers!

Rick Louie - March 26, 2012 - 12:02 pm

Wow, cool looking bridge. I’m guessing it will make for some nice night time long exposures. I really like that first shot of it disappearing into the fog.

A.Barlow - March 26, 2012 - 3:29 pm

That’s a sweet looking bridge. Reminds of of an artery or something… Like the shots.

Edith Levy - March 26, 2012 - 6:40 pm

Very cool series of images Heath.

Rich Williams - March 27, 2012 - 7:00 am

Wow! These are awesome, Heath. Interesting structure, and I like your choices for compositions.

Chris Maskell - March 31, 2012 - 1:33 am

Thats a great looking bridge and one that looks like it will get a lot of visits.
Amazing images,

Justin Balog - April 2, 2012 - 11:21 am

Having never seen this before, I recently had a dream about a Canadian bridge similar to this one, but is spanned an entire Great Lake….

Hmm…this is too weird.
