I’ve been loving the minimal black and white images my friend Brian Matiash has been posting lately, and my shot today is definitely inspired by his work.
Despite how calm this water was, I couldn’t resist putting the 10-stop filter on and trying a few long exposures. I’m very glad I did, because it allowed me to make the water look like a piece of highly reflective glass…and I love the result.
I like how I kept scrolling down the frame and find a surprise at the bottom, and that ND10 definitely made the water awesome. Nice job.
Love the single Pylon in the middle of the smooth water!
Looks just amazing dude, never expected to see the pylon at the bottom, the B&W was a great choice. Awesome work.
That pylon makes the shot, just a great eye. You really showed the beauty of using that filter.
I can’t add anything to the above comments, excellent work
Another great use of that black filter. I have an 8 stop variable ND in the mail somewhere this week so hopefully I’ll get a chance to play with it this weekend.
The mood of this is incredible. Nice going Heath!
Sweet shot Heath. I love this.
Perfect framing. Well done man! Really, really like the conversion and ND use on this one.
You crushed this…the pylon & reflection absolutely make this shot. Looks like you’re mastering the ND10 🙂
Nicely done Heath!
That looks very eerie, like it’s slowly rising out of the water. 🙂
wow man really cool. Love how sharp and crisp it all feels contrasted by the soft reflections and clouds.
Great shot, Heath!
What a great composition. Nice contrast in the processing. Very cool!
I just love your work, Heath, this is so dreamy and surreal!
Those reeds in the lower right corner make it looked like cracked ice – beautiful work with the ND-10!
I am lovin’ this one dude!
Very cool image Heath. Love the composition and monochrome treatment, very nicely done my friend.
That is just awesome, nice work!
Heath, this is one sweet shot! That pylon just anchors the eye. Great comp.
Love the black and white processing and the soft reflections of the clouds.
