Two Roads… – heath ofee dot com

Welcome to what I hope will be a weekly feature on the blog I’m calling ‘Film Friday’. Since I was recently gifted with a Holga 135, I decided I should probably showcase at least one photo from this cool toy camera every week. The shots I post here on Fridays will be straight negative scans of the film with no modifications…what’s the point of buying a toy camera for all the imperfections if you just fix them in post? I hope you enjoy my little foray back into the realm of film photography!

This shot is from my day trip to Grassi Lakes last week. Upon entering the trail head just up from the parking lot, one is greeted with this sign. Which way do you find yourself leaning when given this choice on a daily basis?

  1. Love how you’re able to adapt your processing depending on the environment. Great work. And I prefer the trail to the left. Love the feeling of accomplishment after completing a difficult task.

  2. This looks awesome man, love the idea! Awesome feature here today too, the two paths are great, love the DoF and that lighting is perfect! Enjoy your weekend!

  3. I’m in love with this idea and it is just starting! I cannot wait to see what you do with the awesome Holga gear 😀 Nice find for the sign, and I’ll take the difficult route if it means I can go swimming afterwards!

  4. Heath, great idea about Film Friday – keep it up! I opened your link and saw the photo and before reading anything that image popped up and I thought, “that looks like film – wow, interesting, wonder how he got that effect?”. 🙂 Good job, and you’re right – it should look like it does and not be “fixed” in post.

  5. Nice that the “More Difficult” path is dark and unknown in this shot. Well done. I love the feel of this shot from the Holga.

  6. Awesome.

You found the manifestation of a Frost poem.

Added your weekly Holga to my blogroll, looking forward to it!
