We as photographers always hope for ideal conditions when we head out for a shoot, but unfortunately, things don’t always work out as planned. When conditions don’t pan out exactly as planned, it’s important to keep shooting and make the best of what you’re dealt…you never know what kind of inspiration you’ll be able to find.
I found myself in this situation last week when I made a visit to the Aero Space Museum of Calgary. I arrived and paid my $10 to get in, only to find the Calgary Airport Authority setting up a stage, speakers and hundreds of chairs in preparation for their annual general meeting the following day. As a result, some of the planes were re-positioned (closer together of course) to make room for the stage and chairs. Conditions were most definitely not ideal for shooting, but I made the best of it and found as many interesting shots as I could given the conditions. With any luck I’ll have another couple to share from my short visit.
Wow, what a great sense of depth to this image. I really like all the amazing reflections in this image, and that includes the one in the wing of the photographer taking the photo 😉 Lovely work!
This is pure, unadulterated, UWA domination. Really really great composition with that wing in your face then drawing you to the plane. Win.
Yeah, what Jesse said. Love how the two planes fit together perfectly, great comp!
Jesse said it perfectly with “UWA domination” haha. Love the composition and the processing is spot on, per usual.
Nice on Heath. Looks like something out of a 3d movie.
Great angle and perspective. Good advice too!
Yeah…more photos of airplanes. This is an awesome perspective.
Really does look like the wing is about to break through the screen – great perspective and processing!
Really cool shot, loving that yellow of the plane! Is that REI some kind of glider?
I love the consistency in your processing style – especially with these Calgary Airport images. UWA domination for life 🙂
Sweet shot! Love your perspective!
Great long-lined perspective. Look forward to seeing more!
Hi
Did you use focus stacking to get this depth of field?
Nice shot
Nice dof on this. Well done.
Wow man, glad I didn’t miss this shot. Such a solid perspective. Very commanding.
