I have such great memories from my time in Venice, and one of the best was the morning of our arrival. We took an overnight train from Rome to Venice and arrived in the city just before sunrise. That morning, we basically had the place to ourselves. Nothing was open yet and the streets and alleys were silent and deserted…it was such a peaceful few hours.
When the cafes finally started to open, we stopped at the first one we could find for a quick breakfast and an espresso. This shot of my (at the time) girlfriend (now my wife) really captures the feeling we had both had that morning. Beautiful light and empty streets in one of the most unique cities in the world.
Great image Heath. Really sets the mood!
Pretty in pink! You’ve captured serenity in one of the most chaotic cities on earth. Beautifully processed.
I really like this shot Heat. Great tones, nice setting, and it really sets a great relaxing mood. Just awesome!
Killer processing Heath. Really like the overall tone of this image.
Nice composition and framing. I like your choice of processing. Very distinct.
Love love love this. The blown out highlights to the left and rim lighting is stellar. Just a ridiculously awesome shot Heath.
Nice shot!
Awesome shot Heath! I love the blown out lights on the left, they really make your eye drawn towards the red table cloth and your wife sitting there. Very nice!
Now that’s precisely where I’d rather be this morning. It looks so calm and peaceful.
Such an elegant job with this shot, Heath. I’m loving how adept you are getting with creating clear series with your shots. Well done!
Such an incredible shot – the blown out building on the left is really just working for me, Venice is one of my favorite cities, you’ve really captured it here.
This is beautiful is so many ways. Nicely done!
Just beautiful, agree with what Brian said.
Great shot, Heath! Love your processing on this one!
Really nice shot here! Love the mood… and really miss that early morning cappucino!
Wow, dude, what a totally fantastic photo! Very emotional scene you’ve cast here with your lens my friend! I love how the background is so vital, yet somehow seems to blend in with all the color up front on the subject! Great capture.
Nice combination of composition and processing. I really like the soft light/focus of the background.
Awesome…I really like the deep red of the tables and the way the street fades away into the distance…Awesome!
DAMN this is awesome Heath – I love love love this shot and how you processed it!
Great Atmosphere! I love the tones you’ve created here.
One thing: I probably would have used content aware fill on the left side of the image for the guys arm and red shirt. 🙂
Awesome, Heath … Love the mood!
Now THAT is a great “slice of life” type shot, wonderful shot Heath! Jim
