What better way to start off a -21 C morning than with a warm shot of a beach in Mexico! I really love going back to these shots I took in December because it brings all the great memories I have rushing back. That’s part of the magic of photography though, right? It enables us to capture a moment and hold onto it forever.
One lesson I’ve slowly been learning when out on a shoot is to always look back when walking away from a scene, because you never know what you might be missing. On this morning, I was absolutely exhausted from waking up to catch the sunrise and after the show was over, all I could think about was getting back to the cozy bed in my room for a little more shut-eye. But, I forced myself to look back at the sunrise as I was walking back…and boy am I glad I did!
OMG I need a vacation!!! Love the placement of the sunrise. Beautiful shot!
“Looking back” has been responsible for very many of my better shots 🙂
Love this Heath, good memories of your trip!
Sigh. Would be nice to go to a place like that… Nice soft sunrise. Great job!
Oh man, this making me really hate the 30 degree weather outside. Can’t wait to start traveling this year!
This looks like a Corona commercial 🙂
This feels warm (I agree with James as well)!
I want to be on those loungers watching the sun come up, especially when the wind chill is -29 today. Great shot!
Were those lounges set up for a meeting of one of the cartels? 🙂 I would be willing to bet that a couple of hours after you took this shot this scene wasn’t nearly as serene! Great capture!
Stunning image. Those sun rays are absolutely perfect. It would be an injustice to this image if you did not print it and hang it somewhere in your home.
I’m with Steve Beal on this one! Love those soft rays of evening sun …
Great shot mate. I really enjoy how this turned out.
Great image – makes me want to be there!
Really like the soft focus you’ve achieved in this whilst retaining the detail in the straw sunshade.
As I always say in Mexico, destination palapa.
