I spent just over a week in Palm Springs at the end of November and managed to make a road trip to Phoenix for a weekend to help my buddy Mike Olbinski shoot a wedding. Being the great guy that he is, he let me shoot a roll of film. Here are a couple of frames taken with my Mamiya 645.

Back in August I was given the opportunity to second shoot a wedding for the first time with my buddy Jason over at Crush Photography. We ended up with a perfect late summer day and we had so much fun with Tammie, Chris, and their entire group. By the end of the night we all just felt like old friends hanging out.

Oh, and the girl doing one handed pushups on the dancefloor? Yeah, so good.

I’ve known this amazing family since my days slinging coffee at Starbucks. Steph and Doug used to come in a few times a week and they were hands down among my favourite customers. I’m thankful that we’ve been able to keep in touch since my career as a barista ended, and I couldn’t have been happier to shoot them and their awesome kids a few weeks ago.

This past weekend I was on call for work so I decided to make use of my time in an empty downtown Calgary by bringing my Canon FT-b with me. Loaded with a roll of Fuji NPH 400, I took to the streets and parks and came back with a few images I was happy with – this is one of them. #FilmFriday

I see far too many moving staircases while at my 9-5. I figured it was time I captured one.

For what it’s worth, this was taken inside the Palliser South building, which has been featured quite prominently on my blog here, here, and here.

Monolith

I think this is my favourite building in Calgary. It’s called Palliser South, and sits just south and east of the iconic Calgary Tower. It’s definitely not the tallest building in the city, nor does it have the most grand foyer, but there’s something about the lines of the exterior that just sucks me in. I find myself staring up at it every time I pass by…which is twice a day since I park just across the street from it. Shooting it from any angle just makes me happy.

I’ve posted much more complex compositions of this building in the past, but today I thought I’d go with something simple.
