In keeping with the panorama theme from Friday, I figured I’d share this shot from my home province of Alberta. Now, this isn’t a panorama in the truest sense – it’s just a wide aspect crop of a single frame. The original included much more of the fresh, black pavement and I felt it ate up too much of the frame. There’s nothing wrong with some creative cropping every now and then 🙂
Any guesses on what that yellow crop is?
Equipment:
– Canon EOS 5D Mark II
– Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L
Nothing wrong with it at all man! This is amazing, what a great wide angle
Wow is it really that yellow? That looks cool. It almost looks like mustard growing on the side of the road.
Wow dude, I have no idea what that might be, but this shot is unbelievable! Dig the way you cropped it as well.
Great crop! It really stretches it out nicely. I don’t know what the plants are, but if I was a bumblebee, I’d certainly hang out there.
Wonderful Heath…would never have guessed this was Canada. Love it.
Love this Heath. It looks like the road goes to infinity. Great capture and perfect crop.
Holy sh*t.
Wow look at the color pop.
That is a sick shot! Has Microsoft contacted you about using that as a desktop background yet??? Is it mustard growing in the fields?
We passed a field like this on the way to Banff. No idea what it is!!!
Awesome bud! Love the crop. I’m going to take a stab and say Sunflowers.
I’m so loving this shot. Is this a crop of dandelions for use in dandelion wine?
Mustard or Canola? Really freaking cool shot. Love how smooth the whole frame looks. Who says mid-day shots can’t be awesome!
Great shot. My guess on the crop is oilseed rape. If this was the UK, I would be 100% confident of my guess but I don’t know what folks typically grow in your part of the world.
Dig it!
Canola?
Excellent! Love the black top in contrast to the yellow. I’m guessing it’s mustard.
Absolutely nothing wrong with a creative crop every once in a while and this image was a perfect candidate! Nicely done!
Killer coloring!
That is vibrant, the contrast between the road and the fields is fantastic!
Cropping is perfect. Hmmm. Plants to short to be sunflowers. I’ve seen soy beans look this golden in the right light, but not when the bottom is still green. Don’t have a clue.
I have no idea how that ad for my blog got on there. Oh, wait. There’s a thingy I should have unchecked. Don’t know how to get rid of it now. Forgive me, please.
