The Path

Well, I wasn’t expecting to post this image today. I was planning on making a few minor changes to this shot before posting, but a late night at the Calgary Flames game kept me from processing and uploading something else or making the edits to this shot. So, I hope you enjoy this shot as it is:)

I had a great time playing with textures and experimenting with onOne Software’s Mask Pro 4.1 when processing this shot. Mask Pro is an absolute joy to use when creating complex masks. Just choose which colours you want to keep and which ones you want to drop, and the magic brush does all the work for you. I was able to create the ridiculously complex mask around all those tree branches in a matter of minutes (you can see the mask here). Absolutely amazing.

Wow, I need to look into MaskPro now. Love the feeling and texture work, but I am kinda partial to texture work! Really liking the comp on this as well. Just a great job!

I agree with Jesse. Absolutely love the feeling this shot gives. Nice work with the mask as well, that level of detail is outstanding.

Sweet shot and way to pull it together with Mask Pro. Coincidently my post today was a bit unfinished. I too had another shot ready for today but fell asleep while finalizing it last night. lol

Very cool and very creative, Heath! I really, really like it! It’s fun to look at something we, in our tog community don’t do a ton of! Great work!

This is a BEAUTY Heath, and that Mask Pro software is obviously top notch because you wouldn’t know that you had cut out all those trees. I love this one!

Really nice Heath. I need to learn how to mask out trees as my previous attempts have been terrible, will have to check out that software – thanks.
