This is another shot of the interior of the Jamieson Place building here in Calgary. The ‘Winter Garden’ they have set up on the third floor of the building (+15 level for those Calgarians out there) is really quite serene. There are little oases like this one set up all around the garden providing places to sit and eat or just relax for a few minutes. I probably didn’t really need to tilt the lens for this shot, but I like how the narrow plane of focus moves your through the frame to the Chihuly sculpture hanging just beyond the foliage.
I’m trying you picture your setup. Do you just walk around with a tripod over your shoulder?
Haha…essentially. I’m not a fan of the ‘over-the-shoulder’ technique, but I do carry my tripod with me whenever I’m out shooting. It’s a little weird when you do it for the first time…but I’m used to people looking at me funny now 😉
