Reflected Abstract – heath ofee dot com

This shot is 100% inspired by Dave Wilson. He has some absolutely amazing abstract reflection shots on his blog and his Flickr page…make sure you check him out!

For those of you living in Calgary, you may be able to recognize this as the reflection of The Bow currently under construction here in town. As soon as I looked up to this window above me and saw the slightly garbled reflection, I knew I had to get the shot. Incidentally, this was the last set of brackets I got before my meeting with the security guard this weekend…definitely glad I was able to finish up this set!

I had to crop this shot significantly to isolate just the reflection, as the original frame contained almost the entire window and some of the surrounding wall. Given more time, I would have thrown on a longer lens to get closer to the action, but I’m quite satisfied with how it turned out. I left it in a tall, odd crop to add to the abstract feel.

  1. That was a surprise! I saw your photo in Google Reader and headed over here to leave a comment saying how great I thought it was. Only then did I realise you mentioned me in the text. I’m a visual kind of guy – text is secondary 🙂 Anyway, awesome shot! I love these kinds of picture (as you probably realised already).
