A couple of weeks ago I posted on my Facebook page asking if anyone was willing to donate their time to let me shoot them exclusively on film. Thankfully, there were a few brave folks who responded and I got out on a beautiful night with Carey and Jamie.

I won’t get too nitty gritty with the details, but I will say this: metering with an iPhone + manual focus + lefts and rights flipped = a pretty good learning experience! I’ll likely want to try this again, so if anyone in the Calgary area is reading this let me know if you’re interested.

Simon + Megan: Calgary Maternity Shoot

A week and a half ago I had an awesome maternity session with Simon and Megan – despite the (somewhat) early hour I forced them out of bed I’ve known these two for a couple of years now, and I have no doubt that they’re going to be wonderful parents when the time comes.

This past Friday I had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session for one of my longest standing friends here in Calgary. I’ve known Fraser since we were both in elementary school and we’ve remained close ever since. A while back I promised them a photoshoot, and although it’s getting a bit late now (they’re getting married in two weeks!), I figured it’s better late than never. I had an absolute blast shooting these two and I hope you enjoy viewing these images as much as I enjoyed shooting them.

I’ve something a little different to share today. A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting some lifestyle photos for a colleague of mine and her husband. They missed out on the engagement photo train before they got hitched, and they wanted some photos in that style…and I was more than happy to help out!

We did the shoot in Fish Creek Park just as the sun was setting over the hills, and although we missed a bit of the sunset, we still got some great shots. I had an absolute blast hanging out and shooting with Catherine and Andrew, and had even more fun editing the shots. Smiles come easy to these two, and there were some pretty funny outtakes. For now, here are a few of my favourites from the shoot.

A couple weekends ago Brei and I had our engagement photos shot by my good buddy Tye Carson. On his suggestion we hit up the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary for the shoot, which turned out to be an absolutely awesome location! We had a ton of fun doing the shoot and we couldn’t be happier with how the photos turned out…thanks Tye, you rock!
