Seebe is a small abandoned Hamlet in Kananaskis country north and west of Calgary. It was established in the early 1900’s as the hub of a number of hydro electric dams in the Kananaskis region, and served as an employee townsite. It was officially shut down in August of 2004, but a number of buildings remained standing until, apparently, earlier this year. While walking down the road to where I knew the town to be, I was informed by one of the power plant workers that the town had been completely torn down and removed earlier in the year…he did however, point me in the direction of the old baseball diamond which contained a few gems for me to photograph. A few buildings were still standing around the old diamond, including what I imagine was the old snack-shack. Below is a shot of the old stovetop that lived in that shack…definitely not sanitary anymore.

Oh, this is also the first image I’ve processed using onOne’s PhotoTools. Loved it, and can’t wait to process some more HDR’s with it!
