I hope you all have an awesome long weekend and are able to grab some sweet deals on new gear tomorrow!

I decided to take us back to school again with this shot of a set of extremely cluttered message boards. This is in the lobby area of the Science Theatres building at the University of Calgary. I find it so funny that all these students with things to say are far too lazy to clear off any old notices to make room for theirs…they just slap their own message right on top, regardless of what they may be covering up. I guess the life of a student is a busy one!

The Zipper http://heathofee.com/2010/09/28/the-zipper/ http://heathofee.com/2010/09/28/the-zipper/#respond Tue, 28 Sep 2010 15:59:51 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=1083 This photo brings back some memories for me. This was shot in the Science Theatres lobby area at the University of Calgary where I spent 5 glorious years getting my undergraduate degree in Economics. The crazy looking metal sculpture in the centre of the frame is called ‘The Zipper’. Both screw-like pieces of the sculpture are able to rotate, plus the entire structure sits on a rotating mount allowing the sculpture to spin on two axes. It is considered good luck to spin The Zipper before writing an exam (unless you were an engineering student for some reason), so during midterms and finals this thing was almost always in motion.

Good luck to all those students returning to the U of C this fall!
