And I’m no exception to this rule either – I’m sure you’ve all seen a number of photos of my pug/jack russell, Dexter. So when my good friends, Ben and Lisa asked me to shoot their little family, I was more than happy.

Just a shame Teddy wouldn’t keep his tongue in his mouth for the duration of the shoot 😉

Fisheyed Puppy http://heathofee.com/2011/08/01/fisheyed-puppy/ http://heathofee.com/2011/08/01/fisheyed-puppy/#comments Mon, 01 Aug 2011 13:10:08 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=2887 This week I’m away on a trip to Hawaii for my best bud’s wedding…but little does he know, the REAL reason I’m going is to take photos 😉 I’ve never been before, and I couldn’t be more excited to capture this exotic paradise.

On the recommendation of my pal Jesse Pafundi, I rented a fisheye lens to take with me…he promises I won’t regret it. I took delivery of the lens a couple of days before I left, so of course I had to do a little bit of experimentation at home. Since the most interesting thing around my house is my dog, I figured I’d give the little devil the fisheye treatment. He doesn’t look too impressed.

Tug o’ War http://heathofee.com/2011/03/17/tug-o-war/ http://heathofee.com/2011/03/17/tug-o-war/#comments Thu, 17 Mar 2011 13:15:35 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=2025 I’m sure some of you may be getting bored with seeing photos of my dog, but without any kids of my own running around, this little dude is one the most interesting things to shoot around the house. It’s not easy to capture Dexter in action since he’s a pretty energetic guy, but I figured if I could get him locked into a game of tug o’ war I might be able to capture something interesting. This is probably the best frame of the day.

Oh, and Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all! With a name like O’Fee, you can rest assured that I’ll be enjoying a few pints after work 🙂

Satisfied http://heathofee.com/2011/03/09/satisfied/ http://heathofee.com/2011/03/09/satisfied/#comments Wed, 09 Mar 2011 17:35:30 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=1976 I have today and tomorrow off work, so I made the most of my time off today by sleeping in…hence the late blog post.

I really had no idea what I wanted to post this morning. I sifted through a whole bunch of my old photos going all the way back to 2009, but didn’t find anything I wanted to process until I hit my shots from last summer. I think it must be my yearning for spring and summer that made me stop on these, because that green grass just looks so wonderful right now. If you haven’t seen any photos of my dog before, this is Dexter. He’s a pug/jack russell cross and he’s a little devil…but I still love him. As I’m typing this post, he is sleeping soundly in my lap 🙂

As for the shot, I really like Dexter’s satisfied tongue-hanging-out-of-mouth look, and the juicy bokeh highlights in the background are an added bonus. I ran this shot through PhotoTools and applied a few of my favourite filters along with a light brown tint to give a slight vintage feel.

Willow http://heathofee.com/2011/02/16/willow/ http://heathofee.com/2011/02/16/willow/#comments Wed, 16 Feb 2011 15:37:32 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=1797 Everyone, meet Willow. Willow, this is everyone!

Before the parents and child were ready for my family shoot last week, I couldn’t resist snapping a few frames of their adorable cat, Willow. While I’m not really a cat person (I’m ridiculously allergic to them), this shot almost has me converted. Those bright eyes and cute little nose are just irresistable!

It seems lately like I’ve been a little schizophrenic with my posting…HDR urbex, to child portraits…architecture, to pet photography. This is all part of me trying to expand my photographic horizons. Trying new things is extremely valuable, and I really love sharing all these different types of photos with you guys…hope you’re enjoying the ride as much as I am 🙂
