Pathway – heath ofee dot com http://heathofee.com Wed, 27 Jul 2011 12:12:43 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.1.6 New Growth http://heathofee.com/2011/07/27/new-growth/ http://heathofee.com/2011/07/27/new-growth/#comments Wed, 27 Jul 2011 13:10:19 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=2868 This is a shot from my trip to the Kootenays earlier this year. I think I mentioned the huge forest fire that took out an enormous portion of this forest in a previous post. You can see more of that devastation in this shot, but you also get a peek at the new growth that will form the base of the new forest that will continue to grow in years to come.

The Longest Shadow http://heathofee.com/2010/10/14/the-longest-shadow/ http://heathofee.com/2010/10/14/the-longest-shadow/#comments Thu, 14 Oct 2010 12:43:07 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=1170 It’s gotta be one of the best feelings in the world for any photographer when you take a shot, look at the LCD, and instantly know you’ve got something great. If I can can come away from a shoot with one set of brackets like that, I am a very happy camper. This doesn’t happen for me every time I go out shooting, but last week when I was at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, there was one set of brackets that I knew would work out.

The long shadows, winding pathway, autumn colours, and low sun just all magically lined up for me to take this shot. This was the last set of brackets I shot at the sanctuary that day, and I wouldn’t have gotten this shot if I hadn’t convinced myself to keep elxploring after completing a circle of half the park. Always listen to your gut. Often times it’ll give you good advice.

Pathway to the Falls http://heathofee.com/2010/05/26/pathway-to-the-falls/ http://heathofee.com/2010/05/26/pathway-to-the-falls/#comments Thu, 27 May 2010 02:57:05 +0000 http://yycofee.wordpress.com/?p=742 Wow, is spring/summer ever busy! I don’t think we have a free weekend from now until the end of June…crazy. Needless to say, I haven’t been out shooting too much in the last week because things have been so busy. While I try to find some more inspiration, here’s a photo from my trip up to Johnston Canyon a few weeks ago. This was probably half-way up the trail to the falls and I thought the curving pathway and trees made for a pretty cool scene. Let me know what you think:

Canon EOS 50D, Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5, 10mm, F 8.0, ISO 100, 3 Exposures

The details: 3 exposure HDR tonemapped in Photomatix, color, contrast, clarity in Lightroom and noise reduction in Noiseware.
