Mike Olbinski and Chris DeAngelis get a starring role in one photo each, and the last frame shows the whole crew walking amongst the Joshua trees.

I’m sure that all six of us who were camping got a silhouette shot similar to this one at sunrise. There were just enough clouds on the horizon to create some interesting colour, and those Joshua Trees are just too cool to pass up as a foreground element.

This is probably my favourite of the week. On one of the only short hikes we took on our second day in Joshua Tree there were quite a few of these sad, bedraggled looking trees among the rocks. Despite their lack of leaves, there was a ton of character in their branches, and the blue sky provided a perfect backdrop against which to highlight them.
]]>Although these rocks are actually quite large, I enjoy how the wide angle of this shot makes the look like a little pile of pebbles just dropped into the desert.
]]>For today’s image, I present: Skull Rock.
]]>Today’s shot is from the first afternoon we spent in Joshua Tree. I’ve said this before, but the desert landscape was so alien to me, I couldn’t stop snapping shots of all the cool rock formations and desert vegetation. I hope you all enjoy going on a short journey through the park with me this week.
