Creek – heath ofee dot com http://heathofee.com Thu, 23 Jun 2011 12:10:43 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.1.6 Orange http://heathofee.com/2011/06/23/orange/ http://heathofee.com/2011/06/23/orange/#comments Thu, 23 Jun 2011 13:10:05 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=2594 I passed this creek on the side of the TransCanada Highway at least twice on my trip to BC a couple weekends ago. I made a mental note to make sure I stopped to shoot it on my way home, and I’m very glad I did. I only fired off a few shots as the composition options were limited due to the fact that the creek was right on the side of the highway, but I’m very pleased with what I got.

Including an interesting element into the foreground of a photograph can add a great bit of punch to a shot, and is sometimes overlooked. I was lucky to spot this huge orange rock and be able to incorporate it into my frame. Next time you’re out shooting, look for something interesting to place in the foreground of your frame to add some extra interest.

Bridge Over Fish Creek http://heathofee.com/2010/09/28/bridge-over-fish-creek/ http://heathofee.com/2010/09/28/bridge-over-fish-creek/#comments Tue, 28 Sep 2010 16:13:46 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=1101 From a winter wonderland photo yesterday to a beautiful summer haven today…apparently I’m feeling a little schizophrenic when it comes to choosing photos to process 🙂 Growing up in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Fish Creek Park was a pillar of natural beauty for me as a kid. Going back now brings back memories of countless bike rides, skipping rocks with my dad, and having picnic lunches with family and friends. When I’m lucky enough to have my own kids, I know we’ll be spending some quality time in the park, just like I did.

A River Runs Through It http://heathofee.com/2010/09/28/a-river-runs-through-it/ http://heathofee.com/2010/09/28/a-river-runs-through-it/#respond Tue, 28 Sep 2010 15:58:24 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=1081 For some reason that’s the only title I could come up with for this shot, and I guess it does make sense. This image has actually been sitting in my Lightroom catalogue as a ‘Finished HDR’ for quite a number of weeks. I’ve been unsure about whether or not I’m happy enough with this shot to post…and I’m still not completely convinced, but what better place to get some feedback than here, on the internet!

This shot was from my photowalk in Fish Creek Park earlier this summer and as soon as I saw that tree trunk in the middle of the creek, I knew I had to get a shot of it. Fish Creek Park is somewhere I will definitely be visiting once all the leaves start to turn for autumn…it should be really beautiful.
