My company recently moved into a brand new building here in Calgary. Currently we’re the only tenants, and since we only occupy three floors of the 50 storey tower, there are a whole ton of empty floors just begging to be photographed. So, yesterday afternoon I made the hike from my location on the 10th floor all the way up to the top of the building (the elevators don’t go further than 12 right now), hoping to get a cool shot of the empty space with a nice view out of the floor to ceiling windows. The top floors had a bunch of construction equipment strewn about, so I had to go down a few floors to find a blank slate…this photo was taken somewhere between the 40th and 50th floors.
]]>While we were there, I opted go without my tripod so all of my brackets were handheld…this wasn’t too much of a problem since it was the middle of the day and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It was ridiculously hot (especially for a Canadian ;)) and I forgot to bring sunscreen, so I was madly rattling off brackets in the scorching heat hoping I could get what I wanted before my skin was burned to a crisp. I managed to get a few passable shots given the time of day…here’s one for your enjoyment.
]]>I knew as soon as I saw this monster that I would have to come back to capture it, so on Friday night Brei and I made our way downtown to get a few brackets. Although I don’t think there’s anything outta-this-world about the shot, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Mostly I just wanted to get a shot of this thing while it was right over 9th Ave!
