Yeah, me neither 😉

Anyway – here’s a frame of the youngster on Portra 400. A little bit of cuteness to get your weekend started.

Those Eyes http://heathofee.com/2012/05/17/those-eyes/ http://heathofee.com/2012/05/17/those-eyes/#comments Thu, 17 May 2012 14:00:36 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=4417 I’m sure all the parents out there will agree with me when I say that newborns change so quickly! It seems like every day Rory becomes a slightly different little girl and it’s so cool to see. She’s starting to be a whole lot more aware and she flashes her beautiful eyes at us all the time now. How can you not love those!

The First Hours http://heathofee.com/2012/05/08/the-first-hours/ http://heathofee.com/2012/05/08/the-first-hours/#comments Tue, 08 May 2012 13:10:45 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=4371 In an odd ‘one must die for the other to live’ type situation, my iMac died the day Rory was born. Hence the ridiculous lack of baby photos. I managed to get my fried hard drive replaced last week and finally have all the necessary applications and plugins re-installed so that I can get back to editing. So, this is my first real blog post dedicated to our new daughter, Rory.

I’m sure some of you may be interested in a full birth story, but I won’t bore the general public with that. If you need some gory details, just drop me a line and I’ll be more than happy to share. The quick and dirty story is that Brei had a very good labour and we ended up delivering the baby at home on our own bed with our amazing midwife. The shots you see below are of some of the home setup and then a few images of our little girl just minutes and hours after she was born.

Daily Grind http://heathofee.com/2011/06/30/daily-grind/ http://heathofee.com/2011/06/30/daily-grind/#comments Thu, 30 Jun 2011 13:10:35 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=2667 Every now and again, we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This has been true for me for the past couple of months now. Due to changes at work, I’ve been working longer hours and have had much less time to connect with friends through blogs and Twitter. I just want to thank you all for continuing to support me even though I haven’t been able to reciprocate…it means a lot.

Today I thought I’d share a few candids I shot at my sister’s birthday dinner a few weeks ago. Can’t go wrong with a few cute kids 🙂

Black and White http://heathofee.com/2011/06/20/black-and-white/ http://heathofee.com/2011/06/20/black-and-white/#comments Tue, 21 Jun 2011 00:49:45 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=2562 I know it’s late for a new post, but better late than never, right?

I had a pretty busy weekend and I didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time with my wonderful wife, so instead of processing images on Sunday night, we sat on the couch and watched a few episodes of True Blood. So totally worth it! It’s a great show, and I’d recommend it to anyone…as long as you’re good with a bit of adult content. But…onto the photo.

I was asked by my brother in law and his wife to take a few newborn shots of their beautiful new son. While newborn photography isn’t my favourite thing in the world (I think I need to have one of my own before I’m truly comfortable doing it), they’re family after all, and I obliged, snapping a few images for them on Saturday afternoon. This is one of my faves from my brief time with this cute little devil.

Retro Portrait http://heathofee.com/2011/06/03/retro-portrait/ http://heathofee.com/2011/06/03/retro-portrait/#comments Fri, 03 Jun 2011 13:10:14 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=2465 Wow…is it already Friday again? This week has absolutely flown by, and I can’t believe it’s already time to post another shot in my #FilmFriday series!

Today I’m sharing the first portrait I attempted with my Holga…and what better subject than the coolest little dude on the planet: my oldest nephew! I thought he looked pretty rad with that had and those shades, so I had to capture him in all his glory 🙂

Shoulder Ride http://heathofee.com/2011/04/15/shoulder-ride/ http://heathofee.com/2011/04/15/shoulder-ride/#comments Fri, 15 Apr 2011 13:10:09 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=2212 This is another of my favourites from my family shoot for my sister and bro-in-law. There’s something about a little boy getting a shoulder ride from dad that’s just picture perfect…the smile they get from being ‘on top of the world’ is infectious.

On a different note, I’m thinking of setting up a one light photobooth at my nephews’ 3rd birthday party tomorrow. I’ve got a single 430ex and a shoot through umbrella to work with, and I’m taking suggestions for the best way to set things up. I’ve never done anything like this before, so any help is greatly appreciated!

Contemplation http://heathofee.com/2011/04/04/contemplation/ http://heathofee.com/2011/04/04/contemplation/#comments Mon, 04 Apr 2011 13:10:19 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=2141 There’s nothing better than capturing a pure candid moment…especially when the subject is one of your nephews.

I’m not entirely sure what Carter was thinking at this moment, but I absolutely love the look on his face and how he’s tucked against the couch with his favourite blanket and a book about tractors.

What A Goon! http://heathofee.com/2011/02/23/what-a-goon/ http://heathofee.com/2011/02/23/what-a-goon/#comments Wed, 23 Feb 2011 13:31:30 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=1866 I had portraits on the mind last night, so I went back through the shoot I did for my sister’s family last week to find something to post. I decided on a shot of my oldest nephew. The title of the post may not seem to make sense when looking at this adorable face…but believe me, this shot is one in a million with this guy. Whenever the camera is pointed at him, he likes to either run away or make a frowny face…perhaps this is typical behaviour for a two-and-a-half year old 😉 Regardless, I’m very pleased that I was able to get a great headshot of the little guy, and even more pleased that there’s a hint of a smile on his face.

Those Feet http://heathofee.com/2011/02/10/those-feet/ http://heathofee.com/2011/02/10/those-feet/#comments Thu, 10 Feb 2011 14:12:26 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=1744 I couldn’t resist posting another photo from my shoot this past Monday night. There’s something about those little baby feet that’s just magical. The soft skin puckered into those precious wrinkles, the cute little toes, and the fact that the feet are always in motion, exploring the world for the first time. When I suggested trying to get a shot like this to the parents, they were hesitant to give it a shot…but I know they’ll be extremely happy when they see these results 🙂
