This is Quarry Lake in Canmore, AB at sunrise. Whenever I shoot mountains at sunrise or sunset, it’s always a bit of a surprise when sun gets to just the right angle to light up the mountain peaks. And then, of course, it’s a scramble to find all the compositions you want before that perfect light disappears.

Equipment:
Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L

The Glow http://heathofee.com/2011/07/05/the-glow/ http://heathofee.com/2011/07/05/the-glow/#comments Tue, 05 Jul 2011 13:10:35 +0000 http://heathofee.com/?p=2692 The light in the mountains can be truly breathtaking at times. As the sun starts to dip below the horizon at sunset, the tips of the mountains are bathed in the most amazing orange glow. I was lucky enough to capture these peaks that surround Emerald Lake during my time in the Rockies with Chris Lazzery and Chris Halford.
