I met Simon and Megan through the co-ed soccer team that my wife and I play on a few years ago. They are truly two of the nicest people I know, and I’m glad to be able to number them among my friends. Just over a year ago they welcomed their ridiculously cute son, Savio into the world and I was more than happy to shoot some portraits for them a couple of weeks ago.

Autumn is just so darned beautiful.

Here are a few frames from a family session I shot a couple of weeks ago in Stanley Park here in Calgary. I’d forgotten how beautiful that area was and of course it helped that we had some gorgeous light.

People love their fur children – just ask my buddy Jesse. And I’m no exception to this rule either – I’m sure you’ve all seen a number of photos of my pug/jack russell, Dexter. So when my good friends, Ben and Lisa asked me to shoot their little family, I was more than happy.

Just a shame Teddy wouldn’t keep his tongue in his mouth for the duration of the shoot

It’s always great when an old friend gets in touch after a few years. I worked with Jodi at Starbucks for a number of years and we had some really good times slinging coffee together.

Her new family is amazing. Such love and connection between all of them. I couldn’t have had more fun hanging out and shooting them.

I’ve known this amazing family since my days slinging coffee at Starbucks. Steph and Doug used to come in a few times a week and they were hands down among my favourite customers. I’m thankful that we’ve been able to keep in touch since my career as a barista ended, and I couldn’t have been happier to shoot them and their awesome kids a few weeks ago.

A couple weeks ago I had some friends give me a call on a Friday night wondering if I could do a quick mini family session for them the next day as they were looking for a few photos they could use for Christmas cards. I gladly obliged as I knew I would have a ton of fun with their two kids.

Bowness Park proved to be an awesome location as there were still a bunch of trees that had yet to lose their leaves providing some awesome colour for the shoot. Gotta love that autumn colour!
