Abstract Ribs – heath ofee dot com

It feels like a long time since I’ve posted an abstract architecture shot, so I figured I’d share this one from the Stephen Avenue Mall here in Calgary. There are about 6 or 7 tall metal ‘tree’ sculptures along one section of the avenue that are designed to break up wind gusts. This is a view looking straight up to the top of one of these sculptures.

Equipment:
Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Canon 135mm f/2.0L

  1. Oooh, love the light and comp, Heath. Good call with the b&w processing–this wouldn’t have worked as well if it were in color.

So you also have the 135mm L, huh? That’s a pretty sweet portrait lens.

  2. Really cool 🙂

Try this. Resize your browser window so it looks like a long rectangle. [ ]

Once that’s done scroll up and down this image and it gives the impression of the “ribs” opening and close. Pretty neat – but I’m easily amused, lol.
