The Badlands

Man, the weeks are just whizzing by these days…I can’t believe it’s already time for another edition of #FilmFriday! This week is extra special because I have the distinct pleasure of introducing a new partner in Film Friday crime, Jesse Pafundi. Jesse is an amazing photographer and an even better friend. I’ve come to know him quite well over the past number of months through Twitter, IM and Skype, and I can tell you that he is one of the good guys. I’ve had the pleasure of watching his photographic style and vision develop into what it is today, and watching this growth has been nothing short of inspirational. I couldn’t be happier to have Jesse joining me for #FilmFriday. Please check out his shot here.

I recently took a short day trip out to Drumheller, Alberta to photograph the badlands in the area. It wasn’t a particularly fruitful day of shooting with the DSLR, but I was quite happy with the few Holga shots I took…a couple of which you can see below. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Just ridiculously incredible frames. That bench shot is one of my favorite Holga images of yours to date. Love that grain!

Brian Furbush - July 15, 2011 - 7:19 am

Great work as always bud – really love the first shot in particular – the greens really pop nicely and it’s a warm inviting scene. Congrats on getting a new partner in crime as well!

I’m really digging the shot with the bench! I saw they have a holga lense for the Canon’s. I may have to pick one up and give it a try.

Chris Nitz - July 15, 2011 - 7:22 am

Man, your Film Fridays just kick so much butt! I am with Jesse on the bench shot, just classic goodness right there.

Jose Vazquez - July 15, 2011 - 7:33 am

Wow…these are really cool. Love that vintage feel.

[…] I’m thrilled to join my good pal Heath O’Fee in “Film Friday.” Heath started posting a Holga image every Friday and has been on fire ever since the first post. I hope it catches on as more and more people explore the grainy, soft focus and vignetted world of the Holga. Check out Heath’s post right here. […]
