The common theme of the abandoned buildings I found around the Salton sea was without a doubt, pigeons. These annoying critters were around every corner in every building, and they scared the crap out of me on a number of occasions. Something about the silence of an abandoned building being broken by the flapping of wings is super creepy.
This shot is from a small fire station that has been left to decay. One wall of this room was completely gone, so there was much more light in this room than this shot would suggest. I watched ‘The Social Network’ late last night, and it put me in a bit of a dark mood…I guess I channeled that feeling into this shot.
Loooooooooooove this shot. The way you used the small piece of light entering the building and captured the tone of the wooden leg of the chair is amazing. Superb work dude.
Awesome man…definitely love the little spots of light and that destroyed piece of a chair.
Kind of similar posts for us today once I ever get mine up 🙂
Another great shot Heath! Great composition and use of the light!

Amazing image, Heath. I love the light!
Great composition and excellent use of light. I do a few HDRs but this one is inspired, surreal, but inspired.
Like this a lot, as the other comments say the light is great and the soft focus in the background is a treat – great work!
Excellent shot, Heath. Loving the light leaking through and it’s placement. Really great!
Really nice job on this one Heath!
